Denver Public Schools selects the General Contractor for the Commons Building at Northfield High School.
Denver Public Schools will add the Commons Building to Northfield High School on the Paul Sandoval Campus. The selected general contractor is Golden Triangle Construction. Groundbreaking is scheduled for fourth quarter 2015. The building will include a warming pantry and cafeteria as well as an elevated stage platform. It will be located adjacent to 56th Avenue and east of Central Park Boulevard.
Currently, Northfield High School includes two buildings and a sports complex. The Small Learning Community (SLC); a two story classroom building with 36 classrooms including four state-of-the-art science laboratories, an engineering laboratory, and seven small breakout rooms, a computer lab, and a library. Additionally, the gymnasium building with the temporary warming pantry and cafeteria, a CHSAA-sized gym, weight room, dance room, and PE/athletic locker rooms. Thirdly, the sports complex provides tennis courts, baseball, softball and soccer fields and all purpose track and field.
The Paul Sandoval Campus is a 20-acre site that is part of a larger regional park and is located in the Northfield area of the Stapleton Redevelopment. The high school and adjacent sports complex will share parking and athletic facilities with Denver Parks and Recreation.
