Phase II replaced the original school built in 1963. The new building is 162,000 square feet and provides students with a brighter learning environment and a renewed sense of pride in their school. Unlike the traditional school designs, the new layout and daylighting approach enables people inside the building to quickly identify the way out.
The new building provides Arvada West students and staff with new auxiliary and main gymnasiums, locker rooms, auditorium, music rooms, administration offices, cafeteria/commons, kitchen, and classrooms for math, English, special education, arts, and wood technology.
